Japanese Wasteland
One of the things I love to do is pass time at a discount store. I enjoy walking aimlessly around discount stores, with no intention of buying anything, but for some odd reason nine out of ten times, I walk out of the store with at least two things. Take note, two things I can actually live without, but at that moment; I had persuaded myself that I really do need it. Maybe, its the thought that most of the things being sold are a dollar-something and that I’m saving money if I buy it there, rather than getting it at another store.
Back home, whenever I was bored, I would always go to Daiso, a Japanese dollar store, and just waste time and ultimately waste my money, therefore I deemed it as my Japanese Wasteland. But I can’t help it, Japanese things are soo darn cute! So, when I moved back to Guam, one of the many things I missed was Daiso. However, today, while I ran my errands, I noticed a new store had opened in Harmon. I stopped by and to my surprise, I walked in to a wasteland of plastic nik-naks, organizers, cheap office supplies, cheap socks, cheap household items etc.. My heart skipped a beat and a smile formed because I now have a place to go to when I’m bored. Like always I had no intention of buying anything, but I walked out with a few things I convinced myself I needed. I’m definitely gonna be back.
